Why hello there! My name is Professor Oak, and I'm the leading Researcher of the Kanto Lab. I take it you're looking to start your journey? Well, let's get you started! By visiting the lab in Pallet Town, you'll be able to receive our customary starting items and money as well as your very own Pokemon! Let's explain the latter first:

Here in Kanto, we offer three customary starting Pokemon, like all regions, they're a Grass, Fire, or Water Pokemon. Want to take a closer look?

Customary Starters:

Now, if you're not interested in one of those three, we do have some... less traditional starting Pokemon. These are three more Pokemon, a Normal, Electric, or Psychic type. Want to take a closer look?

Untraditional Starters:

All starting Pokemon offered at the lab know one Egg Move to begin with!

And on a finishing note, if you don't like any of the starters we offer to new trainers, there's an even more unconventional means of obtaining your first Pokemon. If you'd rather, instead of a starting Pokemon, we'll supply you with your starting items and an Ultra Ball, where you can set out to capture a Pokemon on your own or with the help of another trainer. Let's just hope you find a wild Pokemon worth catching, if you're that picky!
