Adventure of Jeff: Prologue (Episode 0)

Jeffwalked outside while everyone slept inside his house, it was a very early morning, 4:27 am, 3 minutes from the time he asked to secretly meet Oak. He did this for the special reason of, he leaves today, so he set up a party for the town and he doesn't want to waste time for the party at the Lab recieving his pokemon. He sat there in front of the lab, waiting, he knows Oak is forgetful, so when the time comes to it, he'll find one of the professor's aid, or walk to the professors house. He looked at his watch, 4:32 am.

The minutes ticked by, and it was 4: 39, luckily one of the Professor's assistants did appear. The man looked at Jeff in slight surprise before giving him a small smile in greeting before going to open the door to the lab with his spare key. The man was always opening the lab early, to get things ready for the Professor. It was a routine he was used to. Unfortunately he wasn't one for long conversations, if any at all. But he didn't mind making small talk if it didn't involve explaining the basics to starting out a journey in the Professor's place.

"Have you been waiting here for a while?" He asked, tone curious as he glanced at Jeff.

"Yeah, I was in hopes that the Professor would remember me asking him to arrive early, but he usually isn't the one to remember so, not much of a surprise." Jeff said with a small chuckle "could I ask of you something, is it at all possible I could get my starter pokemon? I wanted to get one this early so I can spend more time with family and friends during the rest of the day"

"Sure, might as well since you've waited here for some time. Besides, Professor Oak told us beforehand in case he forgot." He said with a light chuckle as he walked inside the lab, beginning to go through the drawers for a starting kit.

"You're Jeff, right?" He asked, starting kit in hand, handing the items to the younger man.

"Yes, I am Jeff" he takes the kit and says thank you "so, which pokemon are their for my starter?" He asks, it has been a while since he last checked, "there are still squirtle, charmander, and bulbasaur correct? With the additional ultra ball to catch something of your own pick? Its been a year so... I'm just trying to figure it out"

"Yes, there are those. And if you don't want to catch you're own or if you don't want Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur we have the electric type Pikachu, the normal type Eevee, and the psychic type Abra." He replied. He waited patiently for Jeff's choice, a small smile gracing his features. This was by far one of the longest conversations he's had in the past week.

"Wow, there are many choices" he smiled, then he went into thinking "I think I'll take bulbasaur, the grass, poison type please and thank you" he said, this was great for him, a pokemon to assist him on his journey.

The young man nodded, opening a draw to a desk and after a bit of rumaging through it he handed Jeff a Pokeball with a leaf sticker on its red surface.

"There you go. Have fun with him, and make sure you take good care of him." He said, still smiling. He had a feeling that Jeff would take good care of Bulbasaur either way.

"Oh, and will you give him a nickname?" He added, tilting his head to the side slightly as he asked.

Jeff honestly couldn't think of one, so he shook his head "Nope, I think its perfectly fine calling him bulbasaur" he said "and thanks for allowing me to get my pokemon this early in the mourning"

"No problem." The man said with a light laugh. He then began to do what he normally did when opening up this early get things set for Professor Oak, then make a cup of coffee.

Jeff gave the man a smile and a wave, before leaving the lab and going back home, he fell asleep on the couch almost instantly. Next mourning he awoke with a knock on his door, he could tell it was one of his friends because, well, this friend had an odd way of knocking, he got up and went to the door, he opened it to find...

Leo stood there, smiling as he stood at Jeff's doorstep. His golden eyes alight with slight amusement. He was in his usual get up, a zipperless and sleeveless black hoodie, torn jeans and black sneakers.

"Hey there." He greeted, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he spoke.

"Morning Leo, good to see you" Jeff said with a smile upon his face, glad to see him "come on in if you dare, I have a request for you" he said as he backed out of the door way 

(Yes, Jeff will go with Leo to get his pokemon, matter of fact, you can ask Jeff right now if you would like, also sorry for short post)

(It's alright, everybody makes short posts now and then.)

"Actually, I was wondering if you'd come with me to Oak's lab so I can get my Pokemon. You could tell me your request on the way there if you want." Leo said, his tone thoughtful as he spoke.

"Oh yeah, Allen told me to tell you hi." He added, his features softening when his younger brother's name left his lips.

Jeff smiled "sure, ill come with you, and I might tell Allen hi back at the party I'm having for a go away, which leads to my request," he walked outside and walked with Leo to the lab "I was wondering if you could help set up the party" he asked

"Of course I'll help. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't?" Leo said, his smile turning into a broad grin as they continued to walk on in silence. As they approached the lab, Leo opened the door to the lab and walked inside. (So, I'll see if there's another mod who can be the Prof. Or an assistant, since I don't know if it's ok for me to still do it....)

"Why hello there," a woman yawned. It seemed like the assistant from before was busy doing something else in the lab. Though luckily, it seemed another assistant had arrived. "Can I help you?" she asked in a tired mumble. It seemed she wasn't as much as a morning person as they were.

"I came for my starting kit and Pokemon." Leo chuckled, understanding the that the other was tired-most likely not a morning person. He smiled nonetheless as he glanced towards Jeff, curious of what the other was doing.

Jeff wasn't paying much attention to what the other assistance,  not even to Leo, he was looking around at the lab to see all types of machines and inventions, all of this astonish him, even though its been like this for so many years

"Ok," the assistant smiled, "I'll get everything." She turned toward where the kits were kept and gingerly took one before making her way back toward Leo. She held it out to him and voiced a question. "Were you looking to receive a starter Pokemon from us as well?"

"Thank you. Yes. You have Eevee as one of the starters, right?" He replied, taking the items from the assistant and putting them in his bag. He had wanted Eevee for a while now.

"Why yes, we do," the girl smiled, "let me just grab one for you." She seemed to study Leo for a moment, as if to try and determine which of their Eevee would be right for him. Nodding to herself, she made her way to a back room, disappearing behind it for a few minutes before reappearing with a Pokeball gripped lightly in her hand. Walking toward Leo, she held the ball out toward him. "He's all yours, though, he's sometimes... a handful," she chuckled, "but I think you two will make great friends one day. Would you like to give him a nickname?"

"I'll name him Umbri." He replied, a small smirk gracing his features. He didn't mind a challenge, and would treat the Eevee no different then he would any other Pokemon. He took the pokeball from the assistant, thanking her as his smirk turned into a generous smile.
